The renovation of this supermarket presented unique challenges; located on the lower ground floor of Rotterdam's lively Markthal, with an average of 150 thousand visitors per week. All works were carried out during opening hours, without inconvenience to tenants and visitors. Despite logistical challenges, such as material transport via Gall&Gall, this worked smoothly!

During the transformation, in which additional spaces were added on both sides of the supermarket, sustainability and re-use were a key focus. We maintained the existing floor and the cooling systems were completely reused. In addition, the old entrance, which was nine meter wide, has been replaced with new window frames and sliding doors to improve climate control and prevent heat loss.
