For modular builder Q-bital based in Nieuwegein, SYNRG carries out the project management for the new construction and expansion of the “Atkinson Morley Wing” of the “St. George's Hospital" in London. Q-bital asked SYNRG to lead and organise the project for Q-bital on design and engineering (RIBA stage 2 to stage 6), procurement and preparation of production team for their biggest and complex project ever made.
The hospital, one of the largest in the United Kingdom, is expanding its IC capacity by 20 beds. The special thing about the expansion is the construction speed. The building (with the BREAAM very good certificate) will be completed within six months, including equipment and ready for use. This ensures as little inconvenience as possible for the hospital and its patients.
The building consists of 152 prefabricated modular units. The units will be realized for 70 percent in the Q-bital factory in the Netherlands in May till August 2023. After production, the units are packed, transported to London and further completed after installation on location.
SYNRG supervises the process for Q-bital from “Riba stage 2” (VO) to the start of construction and possibly including coordination on change management up to and including delivery.
