Yokogawa is the world leader in the field of measure and control technology for the oil and gas industry. Yokogawa’s European and African Headoffice is omnidirectional. A floating transparent box with in the hart a atrium of glass. This atrium is the square of the building, fully open office floors, meeting rooms and a restaurant are situated around it. The gable is built from glass strips with horizontal slats, cased in a white aluminium framework. The slats reflect daylight till far in the working space. The light enters the building via the glass atrium, as through the four vertical light wells and along the big roof lights above the production floors. The parking places below the building offers space to 600 cars, according to this the building is surrounded by a natural, hilly landscape with copses of trees and water.
